Women’s Programs
TAPP (The Anti-Poverty Project) has been presenting programs specifically for women since 2001. Women have made up almost half the over three hundred participants in TAPP courses throughout its history. Half of these women have been immigrant women. We are proud of our commitment to supporting women to realize their potential and assume control of their lives.
We are a feminist organization from our staff to our board to our participants!
No programs are currently being offered specifically for women. As in all of our programs, women will be a very significant proportion of our participants.
Although we are looking for alternate funding for our FEM (Female Employment Mentoring) program, program delivery can continue for individuals or groups. The cost is $2400 per person, with a minimum of six people required for a course to run. We are also searching for alternate funding for the previous program structure.
FEM participants with Jeannette Robert and British Social Services Minister as a result of FEM being selected by the Federal Government in 2007 as a prime Canadian example of best practice in providing training for young women

TAPP has been active in providing people with training in technology and other areas to prepare them better for the job market. As part of its training program, TAPP also arranges for job placements of the course participants.
